Taking a New Look at Taste of Dubai

After a two-year hiatus, the popular Taste of Dubai event has returned to the city. We recently had the opportunity to attend and were pleased to see the changes that have been made since our last visit. We had a wonderful time tasting our way through all that the event had to offer.

Here's an overview of the changes that have been made to Taste of Dubai since its two-year hiatus, and what we experienced during our recent visit.

A look at some of the new trends

Taste of Dubai is an event where visitors can sample culinary delights from some of the best restaurants in town. From traditional Middle Eastern fare to international dishes, there’s something for everyone. Let's take a look at some of the new trends we discovered.

Greater emphasis on shopping experience

This year’s festival not only featured live cooking stations, but also more shops offering samples of their products  a great addition to the Taste of Dubai festival. It gave us an opportunity to learn about new brands, sample their products and purchase items we enjoyed from vendors who have been in business for some time.

Growing popularity of snacking

Snacks and desserts took centre stage this year, with places like American Garden (popcorn), Truffle House, House of Pops and Lays all taking part. The focus on snacking was an excellent way for us to expand our palate and sample flavours we wouldn't try otherwise.

Healthy options available

With so much emphasis on healthy eating nowadays, it was great to see that Taste of Dubai had plenty of healthier options available too. With an increasing number of people paying attention to their diet, it has become important to provide nutritionally balanced food choices.

There were stands offering healthy snacks like our favorite Lenny & Larry's, Hunter Foods and Fade Fit – which are by the way all part of our offering. It wasn’t only about snacks though; with Kibsons, Fresh to Home and local farms all showcasing their produce, those in attendance were able to sample freshly sourced ingredients – many of which had never been encountered before.

The art of cuisine and victories

We tried some dishes from The Nine (handcrafted braised steak pie), Taste of Hilton (chicken samosa) and La Tablita (Mexican chips and guacamole), and we weren't disappointed. All three dishes were absolutely delicious; it was hard to pick a favorite.

Despite there being fewer people than in previous years, we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. What's more, we decided to spin the wheel at Kibsons and were ecstatic when we won the veggie box. We couldn't believe our luck! This veggie box promises to be packed full of delicious produce. We eagerly await its delivery this week with anticipation.

While I was doing the mindfulness-based stress reduction training in 2021, I realized it was time for a change. I needed to get more active and make better lifestyle choices. So I quit my full-time job early 2022 to focus on me and myself. I’m currently taking a nutrition course through The Health Sciences Academy®. My Deliveroo days are over. Off to a better me and…you!
